The Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup from Lot No. 3 in Bellevue. The grilled cheese was seriously excellent. The soup was just OK. I kind of like the place, if for no other reason than one of their starters is a bowl of really good popcorn. Oh, and they serve Young’s Double Chocolate Stout, currently my favorite beer.
Behold the $4.95 half-pound burger and fries from the Ruth’s Chris Happy Hour. Combined with a $2.95 Caesar salad, I’m not sure there’s a better deal in town. I can’t believe I’ve worked less than a half-mile away for 18 months and never indulged in this.
Sage Roasted Turkey Sandwich with Salsa Verde from Seatown Snack Bar. Following up last week’s BLTC, Tom Douglas’ new joint is two-for-two!
Having once consumed TWO foot long cheesesteaks in one sitting to test which Philly institution served the better sandwich (Pat’s over Geno’s, by the way), I consider myself a bit of an expert in the art of the cheesesteak.
The cheesesteak at Tat’s in Pioneer Square is the best I’ve had in Seattle. While that could be taken as a backhanded compliment, the sandwich is actually quite good. See all those fries? They’re only $1.50 extra.
Mmmm, Tat’s. It’s a gut bomb, so I only go once every couple of months. But when I do, I’m always satisfied.
Yep. I was sitting in the front row for tonight’s crapfest at Safeco Field. Quick, name one player on the Indians. Yeah, they suck even more than the Mariners.
But the point is, I was in the first row, on the Mariners dugout! Take that Bob Uecker.
